Won't recognise your vaccine certificates if you don't include Covaxin, Covishield: India to EU

India will not recognise EU’s digital covid certificate until the EU includes Indian vaccines Covishield and Covaxin in the certificate. In what is certainly the first diplomatic retaliatory move against vaccine nationalism, India has said it will only recognise EU digital covid certificate on a reciprocal basis. The EU “green Pass” is expected to come into effect from July 1.

What to expect from Mobile World Congress: Samsung, Huawei, and more

Mobile World Congress is typically an event where companies launch a bunch of mobile phones. But at one point, while doing research for this article, I started to wonder: Can we actually expect any new phones from MWC this year? The organizers are struggling to put together a meaningful physical event after last year's MWC was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this year's event was pushed back from February to late June.  Yes, the conference is going ahead from June 28 to July 1. But so many big names said they wouldn't be a part of the physical event in Barcelona: Google, Facebook, Samsung, Xiaomi, Sony, Nokia and Ericsson, among others.  Read more... Should dating apps have non-monogamy filters? It's complicated.

As New Yorker Meredith hopped back on dating apps once she was fully vaccinated, she noticed an influx of profiles from people who stated they were "ENM," or ethically non-monogamous.  For Meredith, who's going by her first name only for privacy reasons, they're all automatic swipe lefts. "Are there any cute people out there still looking for a monogamous situation?" she asked.  What Meredith has noticed is part of an ongoing trend that may be picking up as vaccinations rise in the United States. Even before the pandemic, more people began to practice non-monogamy — a blanket term for a relationship philosophy that includes more than one partner — and there's no sign of that stopping anytime soon. Colbert's 'Late Show' honors Juneteenth with a playlist and a stark reality check

The Juneteenth recognitions keep rolling in. The Late Show 's house band Stay Human came together to reflect on Juneteenth, which marks the true end of slavery on June 19, 1865 , and discuss their Juneteenth-inspired song playlist with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Mos Def, Nina Simone, and Kendrick Lamar. Like many of us, bandmate Louis Cato didn't learn about Juneteenth until after George Floyd's murder.  "Honestly, I felt a bit robbed. We have our holiday celebrating our emancipation and in 12 years of public education, no one said a word about this," says Cato. And while Jon Lampley, another Stay Human member, heard elders in his church wish one another "Happy Juneteenth" while growing up, he didn't deeply explore the event until later. Read more... The pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we find a job

The way we've found jobs in America has been changing since the beginning of the internet — but now, after the isolation brought on by COVID-19 propelled us further into the claws of the web, the way we network and search for jobs has been fundamentally changed. The pandemic hit during an already rapidly changing job search experience. But since it started started, TikTok has looked into launching its own job searching tool . (Facebook already had one.) LinkedIn is becoming more and more of a social networking tool every day, and people are using it like one: Last quarter alone, conversations on LinkedIn increased 43% and content sharing on the platform is up almost 30%, the company told Mashable. While we saw many of these trends bubbling up pre-COVID, our extended quarantine may have accelerated some of them. Read more...
